Randomness...

Here are just a couple pictures from the past week ... in no particular order :-)

The boys sending Daddy some love ....
More LOVE ...
Easter Bunny is already on its way to Daddy ....
31 weeks ....
Poor baby boy had a high fever this weekend :-( The only upside is he was all about being still and snuggling with me :-)
Sleeping off his fever ....
Mimi set Jake up with a sweet office space, which he thinks is absolutely amazing :-) This is my desk from when I was growing up. The only thing Jake has now requested is a "spinning" chair like in Papa Dee's office :-)

Learning all about being a big brother :-) Now, if only we can get rid of HIS pacifier - ha :-)

Thursdays ...

Thursdays are our afternoons/evenings with Gram and Poppy and Aunt Becky, Aunt Jenn, and Aunt Katy. We obviously see them throughout the week some - and the boys are spending the night there every other Friday night, BUT we always know that Thursdays are "our" days with them - and what FUN we have! The weather has spoiled us lately, and I think this past Thursday, it was about 80 degrees, so we spent the majority of the time outside. It was great.
Gram had gotten an ice cream maker for the boys - lots of fun (and definitely delicious), so here are the boys "helping" make ice cream :-)

Oh YUM!
Now Cole's turn ....
My "sugar baby" loves it ....

We played a little baseball, too - complete with BASES (thanks Aunt Becky). Here is Jake playing "stop short" as he calls it :-)

That was him hitting the ball .... woo-hoo!

Here's a little clip of Jake at bat (ps. the sliding at the end is classic) ;-)

We sure are spoiled having family all around. Even under the circumstances of Chris being gone (and gosh we miss him), we are grateful for this time with family!

Rodeo Day at Preschool

Jake is LOVING preschool. Loving it! The theme the past couple of weeks has been "Wild Wild West" - and this past Thursday, they had Rodeo Day at school. Here is Jake decked out in all his Rodeo gear.
Yeehaw!!!

And because he's Jake .... :-)
Of course we definitely had to get Cole a hat as well!

This is Jake at school on Rodeo Day (thanks Gram for snapping a great picture)!
Here is Cowboy Jake before school on Thursday...

Mid-week SMILES :-)

Guess these 2 are ready for a little baseball :-)
We are the scariest looking pirates ever!! Aaaaargh!!!!!

FUN with Uncle Matt

After preschool today, we met Uncle Matt at Chick-fil-A for a little ice-cream (or a lot of ice-cream) and some indoor playground FUN. The boys loved it!! We sure did have a great time. He has a lot of exciting things going on these days - and is super busy, so it was nice of him to block off a little time for us. Thanks Uncle Matt - can't wait to hang out again soon!! The boys are lucky to have such a FUN and awesome Uncle!!

"THIS is the Day ...

that the Lord has made, Let us REJOICE and be GLAD in it."
Today was one of those days where rejoicing was so easy. It was a gorgeous day, we had ZERO plans, and we spent the majority of the day outside. It was one of those days that I wouldn't mind putting on repeat ... just such a good day. And I'm thankful for the good day that it was!
The day started out with my Dad and me going to breakfast together. We haven't done that in so long - it was great! Then, I just spent the rest of the day playing with the boys. We even had a lunch picnic on the deck in our pjs :-)
Later in the day, we went for a walk with Mimi and Papa Dee .... and there was NO WAY we were going to get lost with the 2 navigators in the stroller :-) Too funny!
I am going to bed tonight thanking God for such an amazing day - spending the majority of it out in his beautiful creation.

30 Weeks ...

Yep, 30 weeks now .... only 10 (or less, hopefully) left :-) I'm finally feeling pretty established with a new OB out here - and got a good report at the doctor's office on Wednesday. Everything is looking good - except that baby boy is breech, so they will do another ultrasound in a month to see if he has changed positions (still time for sure). If he hasn't, we will probably have to schedule a C-section. That would be a little different for me, since I've never had to have a C-section, but honestly - it's the least of my worries. I'm just praying for a healthy baby - and thankful things are looking good as of now. So excited to meet him!!! So So excited (and starting to feel a little sad Chris won't be here ... not quite sure that reality has even sunk in quite yet). Thankful for all the support of family and friends around here, though. Definitely blessed.

A Couple Videos ...

At church each month, there is a memory verse - and when you learn it and say it to the teachers, you get to pick a prize out of the treasure box. Jake LOVES this ... and I LOVE that he is learning so many different memory verses. The boy definitely takes after his Dad and retains information so well, so we really need to learn a new verse every week, but in the meantime - here is Jake saying the 2 memory verses he has learned most recently.

Between playing Candy Land and painting ... Cole is really learning his colors. I took this video to send to Chris - but thought it was cute enough to post on the blog, too :-)

Sword Fighting ...

Leave it to my boys to make anything (and everything ... even the air) into a sword :-) I'm sure that is pretty standard for most boys, especially those with brothers. Today, they were using bubble wands as their swords - and spent a good amount of time in the beautiful sunshine sword fighting. Don't let Cole with his pacifier fool you, either. He's a tough one! I think I better go on ahead and buy Chase a bubble wand - or 10 - so he'll be ready and prepared :-)

Cole may be down ... but he's still "fighting" away!!

Remember THIS picture?

This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago when Jake and Papa Dee were both working on their lap tops ....
THIS picture was taken this past week while Cole and Papa Dee were working on their iPads. Too hilarious!!
The moral of the story: we love Apple (AND Papa Dee, of course) :-)

Missing us some Daddy ....

Daddy seems to be doing well - and staying busy. We definitely talk about him and miss him every day ... but are SO THANKFUL for the communication that we have. While finger painting the other day, we decided to all send him a high 5. We are so proud of him. He's our hero!!!

A message from Cole to Daddy ... :-)

Picnic and Playground FUN

The weather has been AMAZING this past week. It hasn't been great for my allergies - but gosh has it been gorgeous. So, last night - we grabbed a picnic dinner with Aunt Jenn, Aunt Becky, and Aunt Katy - and headed to the Marine Corps Museum playground/park for a picnic dinner and some playground FUN!!
Silly faces, of course :-)

Cole pretending he is a monkey - literally.
Love this face ....
AND this one ...

Spider swinging ....
Holding on for dear life :-)

Good times. Can't wait for the next picnic playground date!!!
