Since a new cycle of recruits do not show up until next weekend, we have enjoyed Daddy getting home from work around 4pm this past week!! So, Thursday - we decided to go with some friends to the beach (Hunting Island) after Chris got home from work. It's only about 15-20 minutes from our house, so it's easy to go and just spend a couple of hours - and it's not too much trouble. When we went to the beach a couple of weeks ago when Gram and Poppy were in town, Jake was a little timid of the waves. He wanted to be holding one of our hands. Well, I wish they could have seen him THIS time, b/c he took off right for the water. He did not see the need to hold hands this time :-) Chris did pick him up and take him out a little further, but he loved just splashing around (even when he would get a face full of water). He threw around some sea shells, a softball...and just enjoyed the WIDE OPEN SPACE!! A storm started to come in about 1 1/2 after we got there, so we packed up - and it got really windy, but it was a really nice late afternoon treat :-)
