Today was the 2d Bn Cook-out .... very humid/hot and lots of bugs, but it was somewhat overcast (which was nice) - and a VERY FUN time .... especially for Jake! He LOVED the "sand castle" .... he spent lots of time jumping away!
he also liked going in and out of it .....
Cole and me watching .....
LOTS more kids started jumping in it, but Jake hung in there - and continued to just jump away .... if a kid fell down, Jake (of course) would fall down, too :-) It was a riot!
THE DUNK TANK!!!!!!! Yep, that's Capt. Ashinhurst :-)
You had to pay $1 and mostly the kids were the ones throwing the balls - and not too many were hitting it, so usually after their 3 chances, they would just go up and hit the bulls-eye with their hand .....
This is hilarious!!!
The water was freezing (even though it was HOT outside) .....
because they kept filling the tank with buckets and bucket of ICE (this is 1stSgt pouring in some more ice) .....
One of the girls helping Jake push the button (for at least the 3rd or 4th time) .... Jake LOVED it!
Chris drying off....
This is the FIRST time that Chris was dunked in the water .... Jake was cracking me up, because he kept saying that "daddy fell down" and was laughing. His reaction was pretty funny....
THEN, 1stSgt held Jake up and let him throw the ball at the bulls-eye .... and when he missed, he helped Jake just push the button to dunk Chris - and Jake LOVED it! It started the "vicious" cycle of Jake saying "my turn" like a million times after that, b/c he didn't want to wait in line and just wanted to dunk Chris - or anyone else who was sitting up there!! :-)
AFTER the cook-out, Chris had to go back to work (still isn't home - booo), and I really needed to run a couple errands in Hilton Head, so the boys and I headed that way. Of course - on the way home we had to hit up Starbucks, so here is Jake enjoying his frappuccino (and no, I wasn't driving at the time I took this video)!!
